- In IEEE 519-2022 the maximum demand load current is established at the point of common coupling as the average of the monthly maximum demand currents over the previous twelve months, each monthly value being the rms current corresponding to the maximum demand over the averaging window stated in the definition.
- IEEE 519-2022 provides that when fewer than twelve months of service exist the available months are averaged, and that for a proposed installation the maximum demand load current is based on the projected maximum monthly apparent power demand over the first year of operation of the proposed harmonic producing loads.
- The maximum demand load current is a current and is stated in amperes.
- In IEEE 519-2022 every current distortion limit of Table 2, Table 3 and Table 4 is a percent of the maximum demand load current, and that current is also the denominator of the short circuit ratio that selects the table row.
