Point of common coupling (PCC)
Updated 2026-10-27
Data records
- IEEE 1159-2019 directs that a harmonics monitor used for an IEEE 519 comparison be placed at the point of common coupling as that standard specifies.
- IEEE 519-2022 defines the point of common coupling as the point on a public supply system, electrically nearest a particular load, at which other loads are or could be connected, located upstream of the installation considered; it is the one point at which the limits of the standard apply.
- IEEE 519-2022 places the point of common coupling at the high-voltage side of a dedicated service transformer for an industrial user served through its own transformer and at the low-voltage side of a shared service transformer for commercial users.
- The term is written Point of common coupling (PCC). Value: Point of common coupling (PCC).
